Each year, the four House groups at Dakabin State High School compete in various sporting carnivals which take place throughout the year. The school hosts an annual Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival and a Cross-Country event. Students participate in these carnivals as a representative of their allocated schoolhouse group, Bradman, Cuthbert, Elliott & Fraser.
From these carnivals' students are then able to qualify for and participate at district, regional, state, and in some cases, national carnivals. Student participation and success at the school carnivals also culminates in an 'Age Champion' for each age group, which is presented on Sports Awards night.
