At Dakabin State High School, we offer a variety of online tools and resources to support our students.

Students can access curriculum resources that allow them to learn at their own pace. While younger students in junior secondary may need assistance with reading and understanding instructions, older students can navigate these materials independently. The resources available here include printable activities designed to support continuous learning and engagement in familiar tasks that are essential for both educational growth and wellbeing.

All resources will require the student username or email (@eq.edu.au) and password. These are the same login and password details used for most day-to-day activities on site, here at school.

  • Emails – All students have access to a Office365 email account.
    • Head to http://webmail.eq.edu.au/ and sign in using the student's normal EQ login.
    • This will be the main communication tool used by teachers to their classes.
    • Students are encouraged to check their email every day.
  • Compass – All students have access to the Compass which includes the student news.
    • Head to https://dakabinshs-qld.compass.education/ and sign in using the student's normal EQ login.
    • Students should and can read the news on any device, on or off site.
    • There are favourites linked under the star in Compass.
  • Office Software – All students have access to free copies of Office Software
    • Head to http://office.com/ and sign in using their normal EQ login.
    • On the upper right side, click install Office.
    • This will be the main software required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc).
  • QLearn Virtual Classrooms – All students have access to an EQ version of Canvas called “QLearn”.
    • Head to https://qlearn.eq.edu.au/ and sign in using the student's normal EQ login.
    • Under the courses section will be all the virtual classrooms.
    • Just click on the virtual classroom in the courses section, such as “Year 8 Maths”. This will be the main location for curriculum work.
    • Once inside, each virtual classroom will be different so students can explore around and regularly check your emails to follow their teacher’s instructions on what work to complete.
The most important step is that our students check their email regularly throughout every school day to ensure they can follow any instructions from their class teachers. If you have any questions about your son or daughters’ classes, please contact their class teacher as the first point of call - https://dakabinshs.eq.edu.au/our-school/our-staff. For further help, please contact the relevant year level coordinator.
