Our school has a GP clinic especially for students. Our school’s clinic is staffed by a Doctor (General Practitioner) and a Nurse. They are from the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health.
The GP and Nurse are here so that our students are easily able to get support for physical health or mental health issues that they might be experiencing. Our school’s GP clinic will be open every Thursday during school terms between 8:30am - 3:00pm. Appointments will be available before school, during class times, as well as at break times. They will be located in the offices on the outside of B Block.
Students can see the GP at school for free. They will need to remember to bring their Medicare card (or Medicare number) with them to the appointment. Students can see the GP's by themselves, or they can go with a parent/carer. Conversations with the school GP and Nurse will be confidential and not shared with anyone else, unless students agree, or there is an immediate risk to the student or other’s safety and wellbeing, or the GP is permitted or required by law to tell someone.
To book an appointment to see the school GP, students can talk to the front office staff, their Year Level Coordinator, a Guidance Officer, or Deputy Principal.
