​Pacifikai

Pacifikai supports the health and wellbeing of Māori and Pacific Islander students by delivering culturally tailored health education.
Students learn about healthy eating and movement through a range of fun and engaging activities.

 

Deadly Choices

The Deadly Choices school program is a health education program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Its main purpose is to:

  • Build health knowledge
  • Strengthen cultural identity and pride
  • Encourage positive lifestyle habits
  • Encourage healthy habits like eating well and staying active
  • Promote regular health checks (e.g. annual 715 health check)
  • Support connection to Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
  • Empower students to take ownership of their health and influence others

 

Rock and Water

Rock and Water is a physical and interactive program designed to develop resilience, self-control, and social skills.
Using movement-based activities, students learn how to stand strong like “rock" and go with the flow like “water," applying these concepts to everyday challenges.
The program emphasises body awareness, boundaries, respect, and strategies for dealing with peer pressure and conflict.

 

RAGE

RAGE is a structured program focused on anger management and emotional regulation.
Through role-play, discussions, and practical strategies, students learn to identify triggers, understand the “anger cycle," and develop healthier responses to difficult situations.
The program highlights empowerment, problem-solving, and repairing relationships.

 

Managing the Bull

Managing the Bull is a resilience and anti-bullying program.
It helps students recognise bullying behaviours, respond assertively, and develop the confidence to resist negative influences.
Through group discussions, role-plays, and practical activities, students build resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.

 

Chillax

Chillax is a relaxation and mindfulness program designed to reduce stress and anxiety in students.
It provides practical techniques such as deep breathing, guided relaxation, mindfulness practices, and stress-management strategies.
Students learn how to recognise early signs of stress and apply calming strategies in real-life situations.

 

Feeling Fantastic

Feeling Fantastic is a proactive wellbeing program designed to help students develop positive self-esteem, optimism, and resilience.
It focuses on building students' self-image, exploring strengths, and learning strategies for positive thinking.
The program uses activities, discussion, and reflection to foster a strong sense of identity and confidence.

 

Love Bites Junior

Love Bites Junior is a respectful relationships program that explores friendships, boundaries, respect, and safety in early adolescence.
It uses age-appropriate activities to help students identify healthy and unhealthy behaviours in relationships, build empathy, and learn safe and respectful ways to interact with others.

 

Love Bites Senior

Love Bites Senior is a respectful relationships education program specifically for young people aged 15–17 (Years 10-12). It is a trauma-responsive, evidence-based program designed to create a safe space for exploring relationship dynamics. The program is aimed at building skills for healthy relationships and preventing violence. At Dakabin, all year 10 students engage with the Love Bites program.

 

PCYC Champ

PCYC Queensland's Channelling Healthy Aggression Mentoring Project (CHAMP) provides young people access to structured activities that encourages physical health, positive decision making, emotional regulation and access to their community through sports-based interventions.   This program uses sport (especially boxing) and mentoring to help young people make positive life choices. 
Each 1–2 hour session starts with a warm-up/stretching, followed by basic exercise and foundational skills, concluding with cool down and debrief.

 

PCYC Team Up

The PCYC Team Up program is a school-based early intervention initiative that uses sport and structured activities to engage young people and build positive connections with peers, mentors, and their community. Delivered in partnership with schools and police, the program focuses on teamwork, communication, and respect while promoting healthy lifestyles and positive behaviour choices. It provides students with a supportive environment where they can develop social skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
