Experience Excellence in Agricultural Education at Dakabin State High School
At Dakabin State High School, our students have the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on, real-world learning through our renowned Signature Agricultural Program. Situated within the heart of our campus is an expansive and well-established 8-hectare working farm, complemented by an additional 16-hectare offsite paddock, providing students with access to diverse and immersive agricultural experiences.
Our program is nationally recognised for its excellence in cattle showing, proudly showcasing our registered Australian Lowline, Squaremeater cattle, and Suffolk Sheep studs. Students actively participate in breeding, husbandry, and showing competitions, gaining valuable skills and industry insights.
In addition to animal husbandry, students explore the future of sustainable farming through our aquaponics and hydroponics systems, as well as traditional vegetable growing methods. These innovative practices encourage environmental awareness and support a farm-to-fork understanding of food production.
With a strong focus on practical learning, leadership, and teamwork, Dakabin’s Agricultural Program prepares students for a wide range of career pathways in the agricultural and environmental sciences. Whether you're passionate about animal care, sustainable farming, or agribusiness, our program provides a solid foundation for success.
