FILM, TELEVISION AND NEW MEDIA (FTM)
AUTHORITY SUBJECT
 
Film, Television and New Media provide the means by which we, as individuals within this society and culture, communicate. This context also reflects, creates and interprets ways of living and seeing. This subject provides an avenue into critiquing, analysing, creating and producing films, television shows and new media forms. A study of Film Media and New Media will enable students to develop the necessary skills to appreciate the complexities of modern communication and provides the opportunity to bring together practical, critical and creative skills.
 
MEDIA STUDIES (MDT)

This course involves the study of how to use different forms of the media and how to present information, entertain and persuade people in a media form, provides avenues for employment and further study options within the media industry. Students undertaking Media Studies will be exposed to a variety of media forms and will be expected to respond to, design and produce media products. They will undertake studies into film making, animation, photography, workplace health and safety, use of media technology, social media and media production.
